Rep. David Valadao won reelection Tuesday as he looks to regain his seat in the 39th Assembly District.
Valadao, who represents the 39th Assembly District, earned 64 percent of the vote in the primary election for the Republican nomination. He also won the primary against former Rep. Dan Logue and won reelection Tuesday.
Valadao, a fifth-generation Angeleno, is married with three children. His father, Frank Valadao, was a congressman and California State Assemblyman from the 32nd Assembly District.
The 39th Assembly District includes the city of Stockton, portions of the cities of Madera, Hanford and Bakersfield, and many outlying areas in Madera, Fresno, Tulare, Kern, Glenn, Kern, Merced, Mariposa, Merced County, and Solano and Colusa counties.
Valadao represents some of the most impoverished, rural and culturally conservative Central Valley communities of the state and has worked to improve their economic vitality and quality-of-life.
