The World of Football in Uganda in 2017

Meet the man who introduced blind football to Uganda

It is with great excitement that I announce that I’m launching my first podcast! I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now, and although I’ve come to the conclusion that my first episode wasn’t just written in some sort of crystal ball, I’ve decided to take one more shot. And I’m not going to be shy with my questions; I want to know what’s happening in the world of football in 2017.

I remember when I was a teenager, I would spend hours and hours trying to teach myself everything I could possibly know about football. It was a difficult and frustrating process, but I always gave it my all. Now that I’ve got more experience with the game, I’ve grown more accustomed to the terminology used, and I believe I’ve finally figured out what’s the difference between a wingback and a striker.

One of the best ways to learn about football is to watch it, so after making a few calls and asking my brother about what he’s watching, I’ve watched enough to know what to expect from this show. I will be interviewing a few people who are part of the football scene in Uganda, and I’ll be looking at where the game is at in 2016, and taking a look at how it’s looking in 2017 in a little more detail.

Uganda and World Cup 2018

Uganda is the best place to watch football in sub-Saharan Africa, but the Ugandan team hasn’t made the final just yet. But there is hope, because they have the youngest squad of any team at the tournament.

This team is made up of some of the best young players in the world — and they’ve also drawn the strongest of international competition to see who will represent them at the next stop on
