Why Do You Hate Your Country So Much?

Editorial: Trump doesn’t want your vote in 2024. Just your obedience while he trashes the U.S. again and again and again.

What is it about the U.S. that so many Americans don’t want to follow its lead?

Why do you hate your country so much?

Here’s why.

I won’t give you a summary of what happened in the last three presidential elections, though, because it’s so horrific and you’d know it by now if you paid even a modicum of attention to American politics.

What happened was that after the second one, the one where the Russians hacked our elections to elect Donald Trump president (which we’re still fighting about) but lost, the Russians were able to steal the next one to elect Hillary Clinton president.

In other words, that’s it. There’s no turning back, folks. There’s going to be another election in just a couple of months that the Russians have a good chance of having stolen this time around too.

You don’t need to be in any mood for the news right now for that to be the takeaway, though. It’s not that we don’t have any kind of free elections in the United States.

The problem with free elections is that they’re not about what’s good for the country. They’re about what’s good for the leaders, and for the candidates, as we have been told over and over again by the same people who tell us we shouldn’t blame the Russians for everything, like they’re all victims of a system that’s rigged against them and that they have no control over.

In fact, their only idea of control is to keep it small enough that we won’t notice it as they keep it from our attention by never allowing or promoting free and fair elections.

Trump’s the latest casualty of the Russian government’s obsession with destroying democracy in the West.

On Monday, the White House announced that the next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, who would replace Nikki Haley, would come from the office of the President of the United States. The ambassador will be chosen by the president himself, and it’s all according to the current norms of presidential succession
